This 3-day workshop is for all levels and will focus on designing a studio painting from previous plein air studies or photos. Artists will learn to analyze the information from their reference material, interpreting color and value relationships in order to create depth in a landscape painting. Many outdoor painting principles will be discussed – including how to design a landscape, and the importance of values, shapes and edges – but with a greater focus on composing a finished piece.
There will be slide presentations, demonstrations, critiques and lots of one-on-one instruction.
